As an individual in society I observe the five precepts propagated by Buddha. In my political career I have abstained from the seven sins that Mahatma Gandhi described as the most perilous to human kind - Wealth without Work, Pleasure without Conscience, Science without Humanity, Knowledge without Character, Politics without Principle, Commerce without Morality and Worship without Sacrifice. I also try my best to prevent others from indulging in these sins.
 

School power and energy societies will be an ideal solution to the power crisis as well as environmental pollution crisis

In a bid to seek solutions for the power crisis in the country, a decision was taken to direct the student population toward power management. In the next 40 years the country will face enormous energy crisis. Furthermore due to the use of Diesel and coal being used for the generation of power which contributes to environmental pollution.

Sri Lanka is to utilize "Pump Water Storage Technology" (PWST) the best water management system available in the world today for hydro power generation in Sri Lanka, a Power and Energy Ministry spokesman said.
